Upon entering one of my clients "REST rooms," (now why do they call them that?) I couldn't help but notice a bowl sitting on the corner of the bathtub and in it was what appeared to be a fish......a DEAD fish all bloated and disgusting. I had to almost barf. Then I thought surely this is a plastic toy in that bowl of water. Nope....not....nadda. After leaving the "Rest room," I pulled a Rosie O'Donnell and spit out this question to the lady of the house. "Excuse me, but is that a dead goldfish in the bathroom on the corner of the tub in that bowl of water?" She said, "Sshhh, its an issue! And we are keeping it safe."(For their little girl in first grade) I am like thinking, HELLO LADY, I didn't feel so safe from the barf issue while looking at that bloated dead goldfish you have held back from having a decent funeral and showing slash teaching your child life goes on somewhere else besides a bowl of water at the tub site...... And mind you its still there a month and a half later....that adds up to 6 weeks (could be longer because I left out how long it takes to bloat up a Goldfish after death eeww) Now here's the sticky part one.....they take showers and baths in that area daily with the remains of Fred or whatever that blessed fish's name was. Yes I know there is no such word as fish's. So what? There is no such thing as what I have viewed on this subject either. OK sticky part two. Let's just say Grandpa dies...... he gets a casket or an urn but he gets something besides the bathtub....called burial or burn! In this family that little girl hasn't learned that yet. What a RUDE awakening this will be for her. Grandpa cant stay in the bathtub and bloat up and remain there forever. Of course I understand the stress of the pet goldfish's death. But I still say a mini funeral and outside burial is in order and a great lesson. Dust to dust HELLO.... Not life to bloat to rot not to mention is it safe to breath around it? I dunno. And I do hope she doesn't read this because I do like her. But it's blog hello! They are having guests for Thanksgiving this week. Can you just see it now? An 8 x 10 glossy of Grandma or Grandpa using the REST room only to get a front row seat view of "How to keep a dead goldfish living on and safe." Yuksie Modo! (You all should read some of the funnies on the guys blog that I got this pic from! His site is due below this line........ Get the pies ready the big day is near. And yes I have my tree up already loving every glistening moment of it.
